Gerald Thomas O'Connor, 66, of Florence, died Thursday, November 1, 2012 in Florence, SC. He was born April 17, 1946 in Plattsburgh, NY to the late David M. and Gertrude Gill O'Connor.

Gerald was a long standing and serving member of Family Worship Center in Florence, SC. He was a proud Vietnam veteran and served in the military for 10 years. He worked in the paper and chipper industry for over 35 years in sales and service. He was an avid hunter and a NASCAR enthusiast.

Survivors include: wife - Sandra "Sandy" Orton O'Connor of Florence, SC; children - Christopher (Kylie) O'Connor of Hartford, CT, Shantell (Steven) Solar of Florence, SC, Erin (Steven) Gorgen of Cape Vincent, NY, Susan (Greg) Pinkham of Carthage, NY, William Tucker of TX and Scott (Heather) Tucker of Utica, NY; sisters - Pat (Steve) Sanger of Lakeland, FL, Beverly Ormsby of Schenectady, NY, Margaret (Gary) Brantigan of Albany, NY and Kathy Wheeler of Lakeland, FL; brother - Donald O'Connor of Lakeland, FL; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Family Worship Center. Interment will follow at Florence National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday 7:00 - 9:00 pm at Cain Funeral Home.
